Melissa Etheridge pens song about Brangelina divorce

Melissa Etheridge used her musical gift to try and fix a problem she created.

The 55-year-old musician tried to backtrack on recent comments she made about Brangelina’s divorce in an ode, titled “The Fixer Blues,” to “fixer” Judy Smith — the crisis manager currently steering the ship for Team Jolie — and the embattled ex-couple.

“Seems I said some things about an old, old, old friend that got some people talking,” the rocker sang on “Watch What Happens Live.”

“Well, I know broken hearts, a thing or two about divorce, I’ve been there before once, OK twice. And I have not seen my friend in over 10 years and I swear I have never, ever, ever, ever, ever met his wife.”

The Grammy-winning artist then directly addressed Smith in the song, attempting to appeal to the famous crisis manager and make it clear there was no malice behind her words.

“Fixer, I hope you understand to scandalize was never my plan,” she sang.

“So the moral of this story is divorce is a bitch and nobody wins.”

Etheridge said she felt the need to address the controversy after Jolie’s people reached out to her about harsh comments she made on Andy Cohen’s SiriusXM radio show.

“Every time I say something it gets turned around and twisted and all of a sudden I’m saying something about her … so I thought I would do what I do best and I wrote a song about it today,” she said during the Wednesday interview.

Kelly Clarkson, who joined Etheridge on the show, neatly summed up the situation.

“Oh my god, this is so juicy!”
